The Dangers of Technology...

Both the short story "The Veldt" and the article "Cell Phones and Today's Teens" share the common theme that improper use of technology can lead to dangerous behaviour.  In the short story "The Veldt" the children, Peter and Wendy, have integrated their love around the "nursery" instead of their parents and family. They love the "nursery" as though it is their mother, or father. The love for this technology, eventually, destroys their family, leaving their parents dead, and their lives revolving around the "nursery". These days cell-phones are what control our lives. "4 out of 5 teenagers have cell-phones" stated the Cell Phones and Today's Teens article.  But what they do with these cell-phones is considered inapropriate, and unethical. These days kids and teens are using their cellular phones, to take inapropriate pictures, either with little clothing, or no clothing on.
Due to the amount of freedom, and use of cell-phones when being able to take pictures and videos, many videos and pictures are being posted, and gossiped about leading to more and more people being able to view these pictures of videos globally. In other words, this can be called "child pornography" stated by the Cell Phones and Teen's Today article.
Another negative consequence in having video- or picture-taking capabilities in phones is teenagers these days are taking videos of people fighting, bullying etc... and posting them globally, so everyone can see. Any life moment at any time can be caught on video now due to the development of cell phones and video phones, as stated by the Cell Phones and Teen's Today article.
In conclusion, technology, like in The Veldt, is doing nothing but leading us to some mean and awful times. As you can see in The Veldt, the children end up killing their parents in the end due to their love for their technology, and in real life, kids and teens love their technology so much, and do so much with it, but like in The Veldt, technology isn't our friend, but a danger to us.
